Nicklas Bendtner has been subjected to intense criticism from all forms of media over the last few years. He has been a particular favourite amongst Internet trolls.
The striker has hit back at some of his critics by stating on his Instagram that he will fight till the end. Bendtner was hoping to have found a perfect form in the form of Wolfsburg. After a nightmare spell at Arsenal where he failed to get a game for several years and was sent out on loan to various clubs due to this reason, Bendtner moved to Wolfsburg on a permanent basis. His move to German football has not been extremely successful after all.
Bendtner was hoping to become a first choice striker straightaway, but he has found intense competition for places at the club that finished second in the Bundesliga. Wolfsburg were the only realistic contenders for the title along with Bayern Munich for several weeks in the season. This meant that Bendtner once again had to settle for a place on the bench. Even though he made 27 appearances in all competitions, most of them came from the substitutes line-up. This is thought to have made the striker extremely unhappy and he is keen on a move – just 12 months after his move from Arsenal.
Wolfsburg sporting executive Klaus Allofs recently stated that the club were waiting on a breakthrough news with regard to their unhappy striker. "I would NEVER disappoint the fans. I am happy to drive around to anyone who would have me. Unfortunately I was sick. Anyone who wants to write s--- about me, and try to put me down, go ahead. This tiger will fight till the end," said the striker on his social media account. This was after Bendtner missed a match on the account of old but was later seen out having dinner in a restaurant.
