Nicklas Bendtner recently brought his nine-year spell at Arsenal to an end after being released by the club following the end of his contract. It has been expected for the last few years that Bendtner would permanently move away from Arsenal after falling out with manager Arsene Wenger. However, he has been unable to find a new club due to several reasons. His poor form, the transfer fee demands of Arsenal, and inability to come to terms with interested parties have been some of those reasons. He is now close to moving to another club on a permanent contract.
Bendtner has been linked with the likes of Eintracht Frankfurt in the last few weeks. Even Aston Villa are thought to be interested in his services since the player has Premier League experience. His agent has been consistently maintaining that Bendtner is subjected to interest from clubs across Europe, but so far no move has materialised. Regarding the interest from Frankfurt, Bendtner’s agent, Tom Brookes, claiming that his client is not in a hurry to decide his next destination. It is expected that the 28-year-old will announce his next destination after the World Cup 2014.
The Danish international has spent the last few seasons on loan at clubs like Juventus and Sunderland, but has scored only a handful of goals. "There is no agreement with Frankfurt. But there are many clubs who are interested in him and we will inform you very soon where he will continue his career. I am sure that we will talk more about the club when the transfer is done, and that will be soon. I am talking to a number of clubs and we are at the closing stages of the negotiations and sorting out the last few details. But I cannot say any more right now,” said Brookes.
