Sunderland's on loan Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner is facing a tough summer ahead of him after it was revealed that he was dropped from the match against Manchester United on the final day of the season after failing to make it to the team bus in time.
Nicklas Bendtner has already revealed that he wants to move permanently away from Arsenal in the summer. Even though he did not get his wish in the last summer, he at least made the temporary move to Sunderland. Despite being good on certain occasions, Nicklas Bendtner has largely been a frustrating figure at the Stadium of light.
Now, it is very likely that Martin O'Neill will not be looking at the possibility of signing the Danish striker after his latest misdemeanour. Sunderland lost the match against Manchester United 1-0 in the final day of the season. It did not matter for both the clubs, as Manchester City on their match against QPR 3-2 to lift the Premier league title for the first time in their history. United managed to win the match through a Wayne Rooney goal in the 20th minute, but came extremely close to doubling their advantage through the likes of Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs.
“I am ready for new challenges. I have heard about concrete interest from other clubs, who sound interesting, but I can’t say more than that right now. After all, I am still under contract with Arsenal, so I have to get back to Arsenal and talk to them first. On the specific matter of staying with Arsenal, I have to say I need something new to happen for me. There is no panic thinking about my future. Now, it’s all about Euro 2012 for Denmark and afterwards I can look at my club future,” said Nicklas Bendtner.
