Former Arsenal striker, Nicklas Bendtner trolled Spurs as they eventually lost the second position to Arsenal in the English Premier League, after Sunday’s stunning results.
Bendtner mocked Tottenham Hotspurs for their third place finish despite the real threat of lifting the trophy ahead of Leicester City after putting up a big fight. Spurs started the final round of matches in second place, enjoying a two-point lead over bitter North London rivals, The Gunners. They headed into the game against already relegated Newcastle United while Arsenal visited Aston Villa, also already relegated.
Spurs ended up losing fantastically to The Magpies by 5-1 at St. James Park. It was absolutely stunning especially as Newcastle had nothing to fight for again. Arsenal cruised to a 4-0 victory over Villa, moving to second place in the League standings.
After the game, Wojciech Szczesny on loan from The Gunners to Italian side, AS Roma, took little time to mock Spurs via a video he posted on popular social media app, Instagram.
“I’d love to get a fine for this but… ‘It’s happened again, it’s happened again… ‘You know the rest,” he sang.
Bendtner took his to Twitter, where he posted:
“Leicester 1 Arsenal 2 Tottenham 3,” then he added mocking emoticons.
Podolski who spent three years at Arsenal also took to Twitter to post:
“Happy St. Tottenham’s Day, I’m having Lasagne for dinner,” adding a photo-shopped picture of Arsene Wenger as a chef with Spurs coach displaying his disappointment with his team’s performance.
