Arsenal is close to selling the Danish striker Nicklas Bendtner. The Gunners have agreed with five clubs on transfer fee and now, it depends on Bendtner which club he wants to sign for.
Bendtner has been in dreadful form in the last 1 and half years. The last time that he had netted at club level was 14 months back.
Bendtner had been placed on loan to the Italian club Juventus at the start of the last season. He mostly sat on the sidelines there and played only 9 games throughout the season. He didn’t look in good nick at all in those matches.
Besiktas, Eintracht Frankfurt Plus and Borussia Monchengladbach are said to be among the clubs which have reached transfer fee agreement with Arsenal.
Talking to the reporter of a Danish newspaper a week back, Bendtner had said, “Arsenal have reached agreement with a few clubs, so, now, I have to make a decision which I will do in next couple of weeks. All of them are decent clubs. So, it will be a tough decision for me.”
“The most important thing for a footballer is playing time. I would not like to join a big club and sit on the bench most of the times. I would rather go to a progressive club where I can get regular playing opportunities.”
Bendtner had signed for Arsenal 8 years back in 2005. He never managed to become a regular starter for the Gunners. He spent most of his tenure playing for other clubs on loan.
He was loaned to Birmingham City in the 2006-07 season, to Sunderland in the 2011-12 season and to Juventus in the last season.
Bendtner has so far featured for Arsenal in 99 games and has scored 22 goals.
