Gonzalo Higuain reached the 18 goals mark for Fiorentina of the last season as the Argentinean scored 18 goals in 37 appearances and was one of the top scorers of the Italian League.
It seems like the performances that Higuain displayed in the Italian League season with Napoli has received the attention of a number of clubs who are now interested in signing the Argentinean attacker including: Everton and Liverpool.
Unfortunately for Liverpool and Everton, Napoli has no desire or plans of selling Gonzalo Higuain anytime soon as the Italian club announced that in order for any club to sign Higuain, they will have to pay at least €95 million.
A statement from the official Napoli website read: "With reference to the stories being spread by some of the media about the possible departure of Higuain for a fee in the region of €50m, SSC Napoli would like to make it clear that the Argentinean attacker has a release clause in his contract valued at €94,736,000,"
Napoli wants to keep potential bidding clubs out of the reach of Higuain and placing such a high price tag will accomplish this mission as neither Everton nor Liverpool would be willing to pay that much money for a player who simply isn’t worth it.
Higuain has 3 more years left in his contract with Napoli and from the looks of it; he will be staying with the Italian club. The Argentinean player is playing impressively with Napoli as he has helped them in finishing in the top 4 spots of the Italian League, Serie A and the 27 year old player does not have any plans of leaving Napoli.
Arsenal was another one of the clubs that were monitoring Higuain but with such a high price tag, the Premier League will be searching around the transfer market for another potential summer signing.
