It’s been over 2 months since Nicklas Bendtner performed a competitive match with his club Wolfsburg and even though his contract with the German club is set to expire in 2017, reports and rumors have been emerging claiming that his time with the Bundesliga squad is about to end as he is not wanted anymore.
Nicklas Bendtner arrived to Wolfsburg on a free transfer from Arsenal on August of 2014 but he has failed to make his presence truly felt in the pitch and the Danish player has received infractions due to disciplinary issues and he was also fined for being late in training sessions.
Klaus Allofs is the sporting director of Wolfsburg and he did confirm that discussions have been taking place as the proper actions are being done to release Nicklas Bendtner as fast as possible.
“We have attempted to hold talks with his advisers and have discussed a solution. I think that there will be a decision soon. We have decided that he does not have to come in for now. The fact that he has been training on his own recently was not something we wanted to carry on.” Klaus Allorfs of Wolfsburg said.
In 31 league appearances, Bendtner has scored 3 goals and this just shows how much the Danish striker has been struggling since joining Wolfsburg.
Bendtner has been training alone for the past few months as he is not even allowed to perform with the rest of his teammates.
Things are also looking pretty bad for Bendtner in relation to his international career as the Danish player was omitted from his national team. The 28 year old player has failed to get into the Danish team that was unable to qualify for the 2016 Euro’s and this is just how much Bendtner has been underperforming after not being able to secure a starting role spot not only for Danish but also for Wolfsburg.
