German club Wolfsburg has released former Arsenal striker NicklasBendtner.
In a statement released by the club, Wolfsburg said that the former Arsenal player is no longer a player of the club and that the contract which was supposed to run until 2017 is no longer valid. The statement said that NicklasBendtner has not been training with the club for some time now and that he has been exempted from participating in the training session. This means that NicklasBendtner is free to join any club during the transfer window.
Ever since he joined Wolfsburg, NicklasBendtner has been having disciplinary problems with the German club. He was accused of being late and missing training sessions very often. The Wolfsburg manager has also claimed that NicklasBendtner was causing troubles within the team and that he is a rogue player.
Wolfsburg director of football admitted that they thought that the partnership with Bendtner would be fruitful, but unfortunately this did not turn out to be that way. He believes that the separation is the best solution for both parties and that he wished the player all the best for his future career.
There were media reports that West Ham might be interested in signing the former Arsenal player, but the London club has denied those rumors. Although West Ham is looking to sign a striker, there is no offer that has been made to Bendtner, and they are not even considering this option. It is believed that the player is also in contact with some Chinese clubs and might make a move during the summer.
